Modifications of the flank profile are necessary to reduce noise and to increase efficiency and bearing strength. Special tools are required in the manufacture of nonstandard tooth profiles.
StarGear® determines the complementary milling cutter or impact wheel profile for a desired tooth profile.
Conversely a precise tooth profile is determined from the provided milling cutter or impact wheel profile. StarGear® offers CAD-interfaces for the layout or manipulation of gear profiles and tool profiles, which can be exported as well as imported. The compatible data formats include HP ME 10, DXF, IGES, VDA-FS, CDL, MECANIC. Of course, all data can be modified to fit NC and CNC needs.
